Cow Herd

The Spinks Ranch maintains a cow herd of 400 mother cows. The cows are selected for mothering ability, frame score and breed back. We are shooting for a 1000 -1100 lbs cow that weans a 6 month old calf that weighs 450lbs. We then hold that calf and sell it as a yearling with a target weight of 700+ lbs.

We believe that cows should be selected and culled on their performance and the performance of their offspring.
