We are often asked what type of horsemanship we use to train horses and who influenced it. The type is easy to answer, we hope we are using GOOD horsemanship. Wes' family brought some of the California bridle horse traditions with them, this in addition to Melissa's show experience and the time she has spent with world class trainers is the basis of what we do. Wes' ranch experience combined with Melissa's English riding experience gives us an opportunity to make some of the most versatile horses you will find.
All Spinks Ranch colts are started in a hackamore then moved to the two rein and on into the bridle. We will work with you on what direction you want to take your horse and a snaffle bit is not out of the question and certainly necessary if your interest lies in an English discipline. However we will not use gimmicks or "training aids". We want to build a foundation for a lifetime of riding not a one season wonder.
If you are interested in us riding a horse for you, contact Wes or Melissa at 417-398-0304.
